About Backgammon Battles

The short version: one founder, one old game, and the belief that online backgammon deserved better.

Who we are

Backgammon Battles is built and operated by Beyond, LLC, a small company based in Provo, Utah. It is founder-run: the person answering your support email is the same person who wrote the matchmaking code and who you can find at the table most Ladder Hours.

Why we built it

Backgammon is one of the oldest games in the world and one of the most honest tests of decision-making under uncertainty. But playing it online usually means clunky interfaces, suspicious dice, paywalled improvement tools, and empty lobbies. We wanted the version we could not find: free to play, ranked properly, dice you can verify, and the analysis that makes you better available to everyone, not just subscribers.

What we stand for

Skill, not chance-for-money. Battle Bucks, our in-app currency, has no cash value and can never be withdrawn or exchanged for money. You compete for rating, trophies, and standing.
Transparent fairness. Dice are generated server-side from a cryptographically secure source, every game's full history is replayable, and rolls are provably fair. Read exactly how on our dice fairness page.
Improvement for everyone. Engine analysis of your games is part of the product, because getting better is the point.
Honest numbers. We do not inflate player counts or invent testimonials. What you see is what the community actually is, and we would rather grow slowly than fake it.
